Russian History is...

fascinating:)

the only problem is that I seem to find it easier to remember little unnecessary facts like who assassinated the person I'm supposed to remember the deeds of!!

as Sherlock Holmes said:

“Depend upon it there comes a time when for every addition in knowledge you forget something that you knew before.”

I think that happened to me a long time ago!

  1. Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful. Clearly we're doomed to be unhappy/discontented for life. Darnit. :)

Same. But it's much more fun to remember who died on a toilet than which guy painted which shed green. Relatively speaking. :D

  2. right:)

I don't think that quote means necessarily that though. To me it signifies that until Jesus comes back no-one can be truly happy, because deep down everyone knows that this is not how the world is meant to be; it doesn't function the way it was created to...

  3. But what if he doesn't come back in our lifetime? Can we only be truly happy in heaven/later on? How's the world supposed to be? If it was easy then it would hardly be a test of faith.

I maybe be slightly confused. :/

The new Sherlock Homes movie, on another topic, looks like such a mictake of the real thing. Darnit. :) x

  4. I think true happiness and joy can only come to us in Heaven, but since now wedon't know just how amazing that can be, we can still feel full of joy now, without realising just how full and jubilant Heaven will be:D

but...I don't actualy know that for certain; it's just how I feel...:)

    .....

But the Sherlock Holmes movie, to continue the other topic, looks ridiculous!!
I can't believe it - he is NEVER captured by 'women's seduction', either for a detecting reason or otherwise!!

somehow I don't think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would be too pleased either...

And just think; with all this amazing technology we have now, a real Sherlock Holmes film could have been AMAZING!!

But no, they have to lower the standards of Shelock Holmes to those of this cheap, commercial world; all that seems to matter to them is lust, greed and fame.

Not that I feel at all strongly on the subject:P

  5. It's good that you feel strongly on the subject, just…stay away from nitroglycerin and, if you feel a sudden urge to hunt down the director AND AXE HIM VICIOUSLY, resist. :D

Maybe you should write the next script for a Sherlock Homes movie. Or, even better, you could write an award winning Sherlock Homes novel that YOU could direct, PROPERLY, instead. ^^ x

    haha:)

thanks for the advice; stopped me in mid-track and all that:P

Talking of strong feelings, what about the new pride and prej.? With Keira Knightley and her hair that's DOWN IN BINGLEYS HOUSE??
